A pedestrian was killed early Sunday morning after being struck by a vehicle on Highway 11 in Umatilla County.
The Oregon State Police responded around 3:30 a.m. to a vehicle versus pedestrian accident on Highway 11 near milepost 33.5.
The preliminary investigation indicated a pedestrian, Carlos Antonio Perez, 27, of Kennewick, Wash., was struck by a vehicle under unknown circumstances. The vehicle operator did not remain on scene, according to the OSP.
The highway was impacted for approximately 3.5 hours during the on-scene investigation. The OSP is actively investigating this incident and currently does not have further information to release.
The OSP was assisted by Milton-Freewater Police Department, Milton-Freewater Rural Fire, and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
