A Pendleton man died Saturday near Pilot Rock after allegedly jumped into traffic on Highway 395.

According to the Oregon State Police, troopers from the Pendleton station responded around 11:22 a.m. to a report of a vehicle versus pedestrian crash on Highway 395 near milepost 14B. Initial reports to Oregon State police dispatch were that a male adult jumped into traffic and was struck by a vehicle.

The OSP is reporting that a white 2014 Ford Edge operated by Kelly Rae Flanagan, 46 of Halfway, was traveling southbound when Bradley Deshawn McMann, 23, of Pendleton, jumped in front of her vehicle. Flanagan was unable to avoid a collision and struck McMann. Following the collision, bystanders performed CPR on McMann and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Witness and family interviews at the scene indicate McMann intentionally jumped into traffic.
