A Pendleton man died Wednesday in rollover accident on Interstate 84.
The Oregon State Police and emergency personnel responded at about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday to the crash near milepost 206.
According to the OSP, Kurt Hitchen, 48, of Pendleton, was operating a Dodge Ram pickup and pulling a travel trailer eastbound when the trailer began to sway causing both the truck and trailer to roll.
Hitchen sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Passenger Melissa Hagen, 38, of Pendleton, was transported to St. Anthony’s Hospital in Pendleton.
The OSP was assisted at the scene by the Pendleton Fire Department, the Echo Fire Department and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
