For the second time in one month, Pendleton Parks and Recreation has received a
grant to support its After School Program.

The $1,000 donation from the Pacific Power Foundation will provide funding for the Pendleton After School Program. The After School program provides engagement activities for children in kindergarten through fifth-grade in the gap between the end of the school day and the end of the average work day. The program serves an average of 60 children a day, and about 1 in 3 students in the After School Program receive financial assistance in order to participate.

Earlier this month, Pendleton Parks & Recreation received a $220,000 grant from the Oregon Department of Education’s Youth Promise initiative. The two grants combined will help fund staffing and scholarships to keep the After School Program running.
