The third annual Wild West Beerfest is bringing craft beer, food and live music to Roy Raley Park this Father’s Day weekend.

“Everyone that comes out always says they have a lot of fun,” Pendleton Parks and Recreation Director Liam Hughes said. “It’s just a laid back event, at the park, under the big shade trees with music and good beer.”

Presented by Pendleton Parks and Recreation and title sponsor Hills Premium Meats, Wild West Beerfest is open to those age 21 and older.

Each year, Wild West Beerfest features a mix of local favorite beers and ciders as well as other flavors people may not have tried, including seasonal and lesser known beers. This year’s event will also feature food vendors and vendors offering other kinds of beverages, including wine from Cerebella Winery. The Pendleton Underground Tours will have a booth set up selling mixed drinks for those looking for something a little harder.

The live entertainment lineup for this year includes performances by singer-songwriter Scott Wilson and bands 200e and High Mileage.

As youth scholarship fundraiser, all Wild West Beerfest proceeds go to need-based scholarships for Parks and Recreation programming, including the afterschool program and Summer Adventure Camp.  This year’s goal is to raise $10,000.

With impacts of the coronavirus pandemic and recession, Pendleton Parks and Recreation experienced a record high request for scholarships last year.

“We’ve had a dramatically higher dollar figure in our requests this,” Hughes said. “Our need for scholarships is extremely high.”
