Perla Jarquin Cruz Higginbotham of Pueblo West, Colo. died on March 13, 2024 in Pueblo, Colo. at the age of 51.

She was born on Sept. 13, 1972 in Nicaragua to Pablo Jarquin and Perla Cruz.

Perla lived in Nicaragua until the age of 12, when her family moved to Panama. She was united in marriage to Richard Higginbotham on April 15, 1994 in Panama City, Panama. They lived in several places while Richard was in the military before settling in Hermiston. In 2012 they moved to Pueblo, Colo., where they have lived since.

She was a member of the Assembly of God church and was a Royal Ranger Commander. Perla enjoyed sewing, cooking, shopping, singing, movies and traveling. She loved time with family and cherished being a mom.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Higginbotham, West Pueblo, Colo.; sons, Joshua and Caleb Higginbotham, West Pueblo, Colo.; daughter, Abigail Higginbotham, West Pueblo, Colo.; parents, Pablo and Perla Jarquin, Panama; brother, Maykel Jarquin, Panama; sister, Estrella Jarquin, Panama; father-in law and mother-in-law, Ed and Debbie Higginbotham, Hermiston; sisters-in-law, Yolanda Board (Jesse), Hermiston and Joanna Hayden (Levi), Hermiston; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at 10 a.m. at Burns Mortuary Chapel, Hermiston.

Burial will follow at the Hermiston Cemetery.
