Law enforcement officials are seeking what is being described as a “person of interest” in the fatal shooting Sunday night of a 27-year-old Irrigon man.
“There is a person of interest being sought by law enforcement,” Morrow County District Attorney Justin Nelson said in a statement. “That person of interest is a juvenile, so we’ve not released the name. Law enforcement do know who they are looking for to talk to that individual about this case.”
Nelson said there is no indication the public is in danger.
Police responded around 9 p.m. on Sunday to Wilson Road Mobile Home Park in Boardman to a report of a male with gunshot wound. Officers found Evencio Salas Birrueta, 28, of Irrigon, was the victim, and immediately began lifesaving measures, which were not successful.
