Peter Scott “Pete” Packard passed away quietly on April 9, 2021 at his home in Stanfield at the age of 62.
He was born on Nov. 30, 1958 in Pendleton.
Pete was born and raised in Stanfield and remained a resident throughout his life. Pete’s love of motorcycles is an understatement. He enjoyed racing when he was younger and continued to ride many miles as life progressed. If he wasn’t riding, he would have been driving truck. But mostly, he was infecting the world around him with his kindness and leaving a lasting memory in the hearts of all that knew him!
Pete’s two daughters and his five grandkids were the JOY of his heart. His girls are Bridgette Pfaff of Stanfield and Krista Russell of Roseburg. Those grandchildren are Bailie, Davin, Jayden, Kylee and Marcelina. Of course, there are the numerous children and grandchildren from other parents, and countless extended family members. He left a legacy of hearts that knew he loved them!
Pete was preceded in death by his dad, John Packard; his mom, Vi Carroll and his stepdad, Bob Carroll; his brother, Terry Packard; and niece, Veronica. Pete was the youngest of four Packard children. He is survived by John Packard of Umatilla and Denise Ward of Portland. He had six nieces and nephews.
We appreciate your love and support during this time. There will be a memorial service following state guidelines at the Coe Street Park in Stanfield at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 25, with a potluck reception to follow.
