A festive crowd filled Festival Street in Hermiston Thursday night for the annual Lighted Holiday Parade.
Just prior to the parade, the Sandstone Jazz Band and the Armand Larvie Jazz Band entertained the crowd. The parade culminated with the arrival of Santa Claus who flicked the switch to light up the Christmas Tree. The event also marked the final time serving as the evenng’s host for Mayor Dave Drotzmann, who is stepping down after serving as mayor for 12 years.
After the tree lighting, the Hermiston High School Jazz Band and Majazzty Choir performed while children lined up to get their photos with Santa.
Hermiston’s Land of Lights at Eastern Oregon Trade and Event Center will continue to be open through the holiday season.
