Phyllis A. Stefani died on March 11, 2022 at her home in Umatilla at the age of 88.
She was born on Feb. 3, 1934 in Stanfield to Ralph and Edith Longhorn.
Phyllis was raised and attended school in Stanfield. She married Robert Stefani and started their family. They traveled throughout the western United States with Robert working as a union electrician on various construction projects. They settled in Umatilla in 1975, where she had lived since.
Phyllis worked as a cook at McNary Heights Elementary until retiring in 1996. She cherished time with her family and her dog, Max. Phyllis enjoyed flowers, was an excellent cook who had a sweet tooth, and was an avid Elvis and Patsy Cline fan.
She is survived by her sons, Robert C. Stefani (Connie), Castle Rock, Wash., Dave Stefani, Hermiston and Thomas Stefani (Cinda), Hermiston; brother, Bill Longhorn, Stanfield; sister, Suzie Davie, Echo; daughters-in-law, Kelly Holm, Umatilla and Monica Vanfossen, Irrigon; six grandchildren; one great granddaughter; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Stefani; sons, Larry and Steven Stefani; and infant son, James Stefani.
A family gathering will be held.
