Police Blotter: Squatting Dopers, Bouncing Tweakers

Northeast Oregon Now has dug into the Hermiston police logs to pluck out some of the more unique reports received by the HPD:

Wednesday, Aug. 31
Condiment Complaint
Ketchup was emptied into the interior and gas tanks of RP’s vehicle sometime btw 11 am-2 pm yesterday.

Poor Pup
RP says Jim from across the street keeps coming onto their property and wrapping their dogs leash around a tree so it can’t move. They have told him to stay out of the yard, they have put no trespass signs up, he is still continuing to do this, would like officer to come over.

Can You Grow Here?
Occurred at Hermiston Police Department on S 1ST St. , Hermiston. 2 students from France in the HPD lobby doing a documentary on legalization of marijuana in Oregon and wants to know what law enforcement thinks about the legalization.

Can Do
RP says her house key was stolen and someone went into shed and stole all her cans yesterday, would like officer to come by.

There Goes the Neighborhood
RP says the homeowners across the street from him have a van that is parked on the street, he doesn’t like it there because it looks bad, would like HPD to do something about it.

Thursday, Sept. 1
Confronting Her Fears
RP is in the HPD Lobby with her daughter. Her daughter is afraid of police and RP would like an officer to come speak to them so that her daughter understands there’s nothing to fear from officers.

Squatting Dopers
RP was advised by a friend that the door and windows were open, the friend checked the residence, and seen lots of paraphernalia. She thinks dopers have been squatting and using at residence. RP is requesting a check of the residence.

Not a Pretty Sight
Male subject acting strangely, possibly on drugs. Suspect has urinated on himself. White male, white t shirt and jeans. Scruffy beard, brown short hair.

Saturday, Sept. 3
Creepy Inquiry
RP states that there is a female at Riverside Park who asked him if his dog could smell dead bodies. She said she is on a spiritual journey and that there is a dead body in the river. She is a taller white female in her 40s wearing a gray HHS hoodie. She was last seen walking from the parking area towards the river.


Sunday, Sept. 4

Bouncing Tweaker
RP reports a little black 2 door sedan at the park across from her house, male driver is tweaking. Bouncing around in the vehicle. RP is concerned that he may drive away and cause an accident.

Monday, Sept. 5
Seeking Options
RP just moved from residence and his ex-fiance is trying to start trouble. She told him she was going to report he is stealing items from her residence. RP is requesting phone call for options to prevent issues.

No Peace in the Park
RP is having an issue with a male who lives in one of the houses on S. 1st Street that backs up to Hodge Park. RP advises that every time he and his girlfriend go to the park to exercise, this other male yells at the RP, telling him the park is closed and that he needs to leave the park. Just now, the RP was walking his dog on the sidewalk and the RP’s dog attempted to attack him. RP would like a phone call from an officer to discuss options.
