The city of Hermiston will partner with Strategic Networks Group over the coming months to explore options for connecting high-capacity digital infrastructure throughout city facilities.
According to a press release from the city on Wednesday, this infrastructure could be leveraged to also connect residents, businesses, and institutions, while assisting internet service providers in extending services to currently underserved areas. Through this effort, the city is exploring ways to encourage healthy competition from internet service providers, leading to improved service and lower costs for residents and businesses.
The city of Hermiston is asking residents and business owners to participate in the process through online research questionnaires called the Hermiston eHousehold Checkup and the Hermiston eBusiness Checkup. Residents with an active email address with the city will receive an email invitation to participate beginning today. Links are also available on the city website at www.hermiston.or.us.
The survey will help the city builds its digital infrastructure in a way that meets the needs of all citizens and businesses while helping the community overall. The research will be conducted over through the end of February. The questionnaire takes approximately 20 minutes to complete.
Results from the survey will be shared at www.hermiston.or.us once the project is complete.
I would be interested in participating in this survey.
