A Umatilla County Sheriff’s deputy arrested a College Place man following a pursuit Sunday afternoon.
Just before 3:45 p.m., the sheriff’s office received a report that Walla Walla police were in pursuit of a vehicle traveling into Oregon.
Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Jonathan Roberts joined the pursuit as vehicles were traveling into Milton-Freewater from off of Walla Walla River Road, according to the sheriff’s office. The driver, identified as 21-year-old Tyler Jonathan Hays from College Place, eventually pulled over at the intersection of Stateline Road and Umapine Road inside Oregon. Roberts responded to assist Walla Walla Police Department and Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Office units on scene.
Roberts arrested Hays on charges of felony attempt elude, reckless driving, and two outstanding warrants.
The vehicle, a white 1995 Honda Accord with Washington plates, was impounded. A female passenger was provided a ride home by Walla Walla Police Department. Hays was lodged at the Umatilla County Jail.
