Ramona Salcido
Ramona Salcido, 67, of Hermiston, passed on to better life during the early morning hours on Thursday, June 26, 2014, surrounded by her family.

Ramona was born in Chihuahua, Mexico to Leonides and Simona Salcido on Sept. 30, 1946. She married Arturo Amezcua on Nov. 27, 1983. One child was born to this union; Noemi Amezcua; and when asked why she only had one, Ramona always responded, “God knew I’d have my hands full with this one.” She was also blessed with a granddaughter; Sienna J. (who is also and handful.)

Ramona was a doting wife, and the most loving, caring, and nurturing mother and grandmother two girls could ever ask for. Her family was her life. Everything she did was for them. As a friend, you could count on her for anything. Blessed were those who knew her.

Ramona was best known for her positive nature, humor, and unwavering faith in the Lord. She had the ability to make those around her laugh, even in the worst of times, and always kept hope alive. A strong woman with a gentle heart. A kind spirit.

“The hardest-working-woman,” is how her co-workers describe her. In fact, in her lifetime, she only called in sick the day she could no longer stand. Admirable and dedicated. A woman of her word. She took a lot of pride in that.

Ramona leaves behind her husband, her daughter, her granddaughter, six sisters, fourbrothers, a million nieces and nephews, and two loveable little dogs. The first of the siblings to reunite with their parents, who, too, have passed on to better life.

A life taken too soon; but just in time to put an end to tremendous pain and suffering. It is with broken hearts that we let her go, and simultaneously rejoice with certainty, that one day, we will meet again; and that, until that day comes, we have an angel watching over us.

May your beautiful soul rest in heavenly peace Mother.
