Randy Moulton Passes Away at 69

Randy K. Moulton died on Aug. 8, 2023 at his home in Hermiston at the age of 69.

He was born on March 8, 1954 in Eugene to Ronald “Ron” Keith Moulton and Barbara Jean Rupple Moulton.

In high school Randy participated in baseball, football, track and field and snow mobile racing, along with being a member of a rock and roll garage band. He moved to Hermiston in 1976. In 1986 Randy married Patricia (Pat) Gallon. In 1994 Randy and Pat restarted the family business, Mr. Insulation. Mr. Insulation’s success was based on quality work, exceptional service and loyalty to their community, contractors, customers and employees.

Randy enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed reading historical war books and the conversations he had with his Uncle Jack, who is a Vietnam veteran. Randy was an avid outdoors man with a passion for fishing and hunting. He shared this passion with close friends and family.

Randy is survived by his wife, Pat; son, Jeff Gallon; brother, Rick Moulton; sister, Ronda Robles; grandchildren, MacKenna and Liam Gallon; sisters-in-law, Darcy Moulton, Jan Merrill and Jean Laufer; brothers-in-law, Peter Robles and Rob Merrill; nephews, Travis Moulton, Paul and Phillip Robles and Drew and Nick Merrill; great nephews, Myles Moulton and Sam, Will and Diego Robles; nieces, Shannon Moulton and Sara and Laura Robles; great nieces, Ashlynn Therwhanger and Lily and Vivian Robles; uncles, Edward and Jack Rupple; and cousins, Julie Rupple and Steve, Scott, Kenny, Jeff and Kathy Kaiser.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Ron Moulton and Barbara Burns; grandparents, LaVerda and Norman Moulton and Edward and Louise Rupple; in-laws, Wayne and Jean McCutchen; brother-in-law, Jim Laufer; niece, Alexxyss Therwhanger; and a cousin, David Rupple.

A service for Randy will be held on Saturday, Aug. 26, 2023 at the Eastern Oregon Trade & Event Center, 1705 E. Airport Road, Hermiston at 2 p.m., with a celebration of life immediately following at Chute 8, concluding at 5 p.m.
