Raymond Minter died on Oct. 7, 2017 at his home in Hermiston at the age of 93.
He was born on Oct. 26, 1923 in Martinsburg, Neb. to Ben and Maggie Bombar Minter.
Ray served in the United States Army during World War II in Europe, Africa and the Middle East until his honorable discharge. He was united in marriage to Martha Ellers on May 9, 1952 in Sioux City, Iowa. He worked over the years as an agriculture mechanic and as an auto-body repairman for many years. He was an active member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Hermiston. Ray loved life, family, baseball, fishing and people.
He is survived by his sons, Clyde Minter, San Mateo, Calif. and Gordon Minter, Richland, Wash.; grandsons, Gordie, Jake, Nick, David and Andrew; and great grandson, Eli.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and sister, Mary White.
A memorial service with military honors will be held on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 515 S.W. Seventh St., Hermiston.
