The Hermiston School Board received an update Monday night on the district’s bond projects during its Monday night meeting.
Dates have been set for the ribbon-cutting ceremonies for the new Rocky Heights Elementary School as well as the newest elementary school, Loma Vista Elementary. The Rocky Heights ceremony will be at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 30. Loma Vista’s ceremony will be at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 31.
Also at Monday’s board meeting, Director of Athletics & Activities Larry Usher recapped the 2021-22 athletic year and introduced Student Success Coach Jay Ego, who works with students to prepare them for post-high school education, whether that involves athletics or a classroom focus. He also assists with financial aid assistance.
