Richard J. Brown Sr. passed away peacefully on Dec. 19, 2014 at his home in Hermiston with his family by his side after a long fight with cancer at the age of 65.
He was born on April 7, 1949 in West Los Angeles to Bernard and Mary Ellen Clark Brown.
Richard was raised in Fontana, Calif., and graduated from Fontana High in 1967. He was married to Constance Jean Fisher from Sept. 26, 1970 to June of 1983. To this union came two children, Richard Jr. and Stacey. Richard served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War from 1971 until 1974 as a boatswain mate aboard the USS John Paul Jones and the USS Juneau until his honorable discharge. In 2002, he retired from Tacoma Steel as a maintenance supervisor after 25 years. Richard then relocated to Oregon to be near his family. His hobbies included country western dancing and playing racket ball.
He is survived by his true love, Constance Jean Williamson; son, Richard Brown Jr. & his wife Pam; daughter, Stacey Copple & her husband Matt; grandchildren, David Gilbert, Bradley Brown, Erika Gilbert, Matthew Gilbert, Mitchell Brown, & Kaydence Copple.
He will be missed by us all. Rest in Peace.
