Richard C. Godinez died on March 9, 2013 in Hermiston at the age of 64.
He was born on Sept. 2, 1948 in Torrington, Wyo., to James and Lois Godinez. Richard graduated from Hermiston High School in 1969. He worked in construction in Seattle in the early 1970s. Richard moved to St. Helens in 1983 and worked construction in Portland. He returned to Hermiston in 1992. Richard enjoyed playing golf, fishing, and life.
He is survived by his sons, Richard (Schooner) Godinez and wife, Amy, St. Helens, and John Robinson, Bremerton, Wash.; daughters, Shelli Hutchinson, Port Orchard, Wash., and Margaret Moen, St. Helens; brother, Dario Godinez, Yakima, Wash.; sisters, Christina Johnson, Redmond, Lauren Leaton, Hermiston, Evelyn Dubisar, Prineville, Alicia Godinez, Hermiston, and Vivian Sullivan, Hermiston; grandson, Chase; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Ermin Godinez.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 1 p.m., at Regency Nursing Home in Hermiston.
