Richard Clark

Richard L Clark of Boardman passed away at home on Jan. 2, 2020 at the age of 78.

He was born in Portland on Jan. 13, 1941 to Orin and Lucille Veenker Clark.

Richard grew up in the Portland and Sellwood areas. He married his wife Marilyn Philbrick in 1960. To this marriage were born two daughters, Tamara (Clark) Black and Keli (Clark) Bither.

Richard worked for many years as a glassworker in the Portland area, later owning his own glass business which focused on his passion of restoring classic cars.

With the help of his cousins and friends, Richard embarked on a journey of building two separate homes for his family in the Clackamas area, and then moving to the Redland area in 1972 to build the home they would spend the next 40 years in.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and caring for his kitties, and had lately traveled much of the world on cruises to Hawaii, Tahiti, Alaska and the Panama Canal, to name a few. He also had the opportunity to travel to China.

Richard most enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandchildren Paige and Sterling, and traveling with family to many of the United States’ beautiful parks, rodeos and roping events. He enjoyed watching the late-night games of pool at Uncle Ted’s, laughing at the family antics.

He is survived by his daughters, Tamara and husband Aundrae Black, and Keli and husband Tim Bither; as well as grandchildren, Paige and Sterling Bither.

Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn.

At his request there will be no service.
