Robert Muniz of Hermiston passed away in Hermiston on Oct. 30, 2023 at the age of 52.
He was born on Sept. 5, 1971 in Portland to Miguel and Olivia Muniz.
He attended school in the Athena-Weston School District where he became a Tigerscots fan. He graduated from Walla Walla High School in the class of 1989. Robert worked as a farm maintenance mechanic for Agri Northwest in Hermiston for several years.
Robert had a love for football and was a serious fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed traveling, going to the casinos, kayaking, gardening and barbequing ribs.
He is survived by a brother, Eugene Muniz; sister, Marizela Gutierrez; stepson, Carlos Ayala; and nieces and nephews who he was very proud of, Andy, Hallie, Tito, Izzy, James, Miguel, Angel, Chris, Brianna, Layla and Alejandra.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Miguel Muniz Jr.; and two sisters, Gloria Razo and Jane Lopez.
A memorial service will be at noon on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2023 at the Burns Mortuary Chapel, 685 W. Hermiston Ave.
