Ronald Blaine Hyder died Friday, July 26, 2013 at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Hermiston at the age of 63.

He was born Sept. 9, 1949 at Prairie City to Charles Robert & May Kristina (Holmburg) Hyder.

He was raised in Mt. Vernon and graduated from Mt. Vernon High School. On June 12, 1970, he married Carol Bernice Rodden in Mt. Vernon. Ron worked as a logger for over 20 years for Swaggert Logging out of Ritter. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, shooting trap at Brad and Julie’s, spending time with family and friends and he loved his time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by daughters, Kristina Gienger of Prineville and Dawn Rhinehart of Eatonville, Wash.; father, Charles Hyder of Mt. Vernon; brothers, Eddie Hyder of Mt. Vernon and Alvin Hyder of Grants Pass; seven grandchildren, Jake Hyder of Monument, Erica Gienger and Cade Gienger, both of Prineville, and Alexandria Hyder, Shadow Rhinehart, Jade Rhinehart and Katie Reed all of Eatonville, Wash.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Hyder on Feb. 28, 2013; and his mother, May Hyder.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at 11 a.m., at the Monument Cemetery. There will be a potluck dinner following at the Monument Senior Center.
