Ronald Jack White of Hermiston passed away surrounded by family and friends on Jan. 23, 2023 in Richland, Wash. at the age of 77.
He was born on Feb. 15, 1945 in Boise, Idaho to Alton and Ila Howell White.
Ron grew up in Pendleton, where he was a member of the Hall of Fame Linebacker’s Club. He attended business courses in college after high school. He then owned and operated a tire store and an automobile repair shop in Hermiston. He had owned and operated the Home Maintenance Center in Hermiston for the past 32 years.
Ron had a very strong work ethic, which consumed the majority of his time. He did enjoy trips to the family cabin in Meacham and spending time with his granddaughter and great-grandchildren, gardening, and classic cars.
Ron married Hermalyn “Lynn” J. DeSouza in Boise, Idaho in the mid-1960s. Lynn preceded him in death on Aug. 11, 2019.
He is survived by a son, Troy (Lorie) White; granddaughter, Brandi (Curtis); three great grandchildren; and a sister, Jackie Johnson.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2023 at Skyview Memorial Park in Pendleton.
