Ruby Lorrayne Mulvaney, a lifelong resident of the Hermiston area, passed away in Hermiston on Sept. 19, 2024 at the age of 90.
She was born on July 13, 1934 in Hermiston to Alvin and Gladys McClouth Hooker.
Ruby grew up in the Hermiston area, where she attended school and graduated from Hermiston High School in the class of 1954.
Ruby married Delbert D. Mulvaney in Boise, Idaho on Aug. 9, 1954.
Ruby stayed at home to raise her children and also operated a day care for many years. Once her children were grown, she began working as a production worker for Simplot, where she worked until retiring.
Mrs. Mulvaney enjoyed doing word search puzzles, loved spending time with her family and having family get-togethers, and watching the hummingbirds that visited her yard. She also attended the First Baptist Church in Hermiston for many years.
She is survived by children, Verna Shepardson, Laura Tucker, James Mulvaney, Pearl Price, Wayne Mulvaney, Kelly Santoni and Carolyn Ramirez; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren; brothers, Henry Hooker and Kenneth Hooker; and many extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert in 2013; her parents; and two sisters, Sharon Parrish and Pamela Grimes.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27, 2024 at the Hermiston Cemetery.
