An updated 2017-18 school calendar was approved by the Hermiston Board of Education at its regular meeting on Monday.
The calendar update comes after the district and Hermiston Association of Teachers approved a working agreement for the 2017-18 and 2018-19 school years. The new agreement includes three additional teacher work days, two of which are student contact days.
The calendar for next school year has a Monday, Aug. 28, 2017, start date, with the last day for students being June 7, 2018. Graduation will be Saturday, June 9, 2018. The Hermiston School District will observe winter break from December 20, 2017, through Jan. 1, 2018, and spring break will fall on March 26-30, 2018.
