The Umatilla County Search and Rescue (SAR) Team honored several team members during an awards ceremony.
Bill Morris was named Volunteer of the Year. Certificates of Appreciation were given to Dalton Cash, Robert Cash, Josh Dimock, Bob English, Josh English, Danielle Gibbons, Julie Hendren, Jan Good, Dean Groshong, Travis Lundquist, Bill Morris, Cheryl Post, Rick Pullen, Jonathan Quinlin, and Kevin Schneiber.
Special recognition was given to the Search and Rescue Advisory Board members, Cash, English, Good, Groshong, and Scheibner.
A letter of commendation from Mayor Phil Houk and the City of Pendleton was read during the ceremony regarding the successful, life-saving rescue mission in November 2014 in which the team located Richard Braatz who was lost in the woods.
