Bertha Gomez Passes Away at 81
Bertha R. Gomez, our beloved mother and grandmother, passed away to join our heavenly Father on Sept. 17, 2017 at her home in Pasco, Wash. at the age of 81. She was a former Hermiston resident for 44 years.
She was born on June 28, 1936 in Edinburg, Texas.
Mother spent quality time raising her family, who dominated most of her time. She enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved playing bingo and socializing with family and friends. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family talking around the kitchen table at every opportunity that was provided. She had the ability, as mothers do, to sense if everything was good. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She lived a full and happy life and will be missed very much by all that knew her! God bless you, Mother.
Bertha is survived by seven of her eight children, Gloria, Frank Jr., Johanna, Victor, Orlando, Priscilla and Elizabeth (Lisa); 15 wonderful grandchildren; and 10 amazing great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, who passed on Sept. 17, 2013, and her eldest son, Rene, who passed in 1976.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church, Hermiston.
Graveside services will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at the Hermiston Cemetery.
