Betty Kaye Dissmore Liebe of Bend, formerly of Hermiston, passed away peacefully on Aug. 2, 2022 at her home with her family by her side at the age of 85.
She was born on July 25, 1937 in Wenatchee, Wash. to Archie and Ruby Dissmore.
She was the baby of the family, having an older brother, Robert Dissmore and sister, Alice “Arlene” Dissmore.
She lived for a few years in Entiat, Wash., moving from there in 1940 to the Seattle area and later to Camano Island.
Betty was united in marriage to Albert “Al” Lewis Liebe Sr. on Jan. 22, 1957. Betty and Al loved traveling and enjoyed a great retirement together. Starting in 1993, they would snow-bird down to Ariz. each winter, pulling their large fifth-wheel trailer. In the spring, they would return to Oregon to camp host at several beautiful locations while living in their fifth wheel. Although Mom had lived alone since 2014 as a widow, she had many friends. Mom became a member of the Victory Baptist Church in Bend. She loved to attend the church and made many friends there. She met each Monday afternoon with several others for Bible study at the home of neighbor and great friend, Marlene. Her faith in and love for Christ were so important to her. Mom was a gifted artist. She loved to do oil paintings, mostly of mountains and outdoor scenery. She also belonged to a group of stampers, and we all looked forward to the beautiful hand-crafted greeting cards she would send for birthdays and holidays.
She is survived by her children, Debbie Manning, Marvin Liebe (wife Barbara), Sonny Liebe, Monte Liebe (wife Janie) and Sue Ellen Stephenson (husband Ty); her grandchildren; Teri (husband David), Kevin (wife Megan), Sara (husband Kris), Mykel, David, Katie (husband Tyler), Tyson (wife Bailey), Amy (husband Levent), Niki, Andrea (husband Mike), Matt, and Emily (husband Colin); and her great grandchildren, Chase, Cora, Nora, Audrey, Owen, Ledger, Gemma, Ella, Gavyn, Gabriel, Bayne, Emerson, Rhealyn, Ava, McKenzie, Aubry, Everly, Adeline and Britain.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Ruby Dissmore; her husband, Albert Liebe; brother, Robert Dissmore; sister, Arlene Dissmore; daughter-in-law, Sue Liebe; and great granddaughter, Addyson Stahl.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2022 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Harkenrider Senior Center, located at 255 N.E. Second St., Hermiston.
