She was born on Aug. 22, 1960 in Cocoa Beach, Fla., to Harold and Astrid Carlson Cook. Debbie graduated from Long Beach Poly High School in Long Beach, California. She attended college in California for a time before moving to Hermiston in 1988 where she raised her beautiful family. Debbie worked at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Hermiston for 13 years in environmental services as a technician II. She enjoyed homemaking, spending time with her grandchildren, family vacations, camping, fishing, boating, going on walks with her family, and yard selling.
She is survived by her spouse, Mark Fisher; daughter, Melissa Young; sons, Kristopher & Michael Fisher – all of Hermiston; sister, Brenda Verwey (Brian Verwey Sr.) Hermiston; brother, James Cook, Atlanta; nephews, Brian Jr., Thomas, & Kevin Verwey; grandchildren, Noah Weatherford II, Samantha Young, Averi Fisher, & Michael Harold Fisher II.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Randy Cook; nephews, Kenny ane Derick Verwey; and first husband, Ronald Young.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, Jan. 2, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Burns Mortuary Chapel in Hermiston.
Burial will follow at the Hermiston Cemetery.
