Harold E. Harvey of Hermiston died on May 3, 2015 in Hermiston at the age of 80.
He was born on Jan. 21, 1935 in Baker City. Harold was raised and attended schools in Hermiston until high school when he attended Upper Columbia Academy. He then attended and graduated from Walla Walla College with a bachelor’s degree in education. Harold was an elementary teacher for a number of years and then worked for Marlette Homes in Hermiston for 25 years until he retired. He had a full and rich retirement filled with traveling to many locations around the world and time spent with his family. He was an active member of Anchor Point Church, a volunteer at the Stanfield Food Basket, and an avid reader. Harold made friends wherever he was and will be remembered for his zest for life.
He is survived by his daughters, Melody Ayers & husband Kirk, Tillamook, Theresa Barro & husband Fidel, Saipan, MP, Carmen Chaffey & husband Tom, College Place, Wash., & Kim Hays, Walla Walla, Wash.; four grandchildren, Erin Krempasky, Sara Ayers, Andrew and Stephen Barro; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Phyllis, Delores, and Joyce; and brother, Clayton.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Anchor Point Church, 1611 Diagonal Blvd., Hermiston.
Burial will follow at the Hermiston Cemetery.
