He was born on Dec. 16, 1965 in La Grande. Kevin was raised and attended schools in Umatilla. He graduated from Spartan School of Aeronautics in 1988. Kevin was united in marriage to Janet C. Campbell on Oct. 2, 1993 in Tulsa, Okla. They moved to Hermiston in 1994 where they have lived since. Kevin graduated from Blue Mountain Community College in 2007 with a degree as a registered nurse. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Kevin was active volunteer with the Boy Scouts and had served as a hospice volunteered. He enjoyed camping, movies, was an excellent cook, and an advocate for education.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Morgan, Hermiston; children, Christian Morgan, Utah, Zachary Morgan, Lanae Washburn, & Molly Morgan, all of Hermiston; sisters, Mary Kay Morgan Bork, Pendleton, Linda Morgan Self, Tri Cities, Wash., Tami Rafferty, Prosser, Wash., and Cyndi Prewitt, Hermiston; brother, Bobby Challis, Hermiston; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces & nephews.
Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Joyce and Eugene Challis; and a daughter, Bre’Onna Morgan; and his grandparents, Leora and Raymond Hollingsworth.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015 at 1 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 15 Grant St., Umatilla.
Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Umatilla.
