Joyce Caroll Fuchs of Hermiston died on July 19, 2016 in Spokane, Wash., at the age of 68.
She was born on Nov. 23, 1947 in Ada, Okla., to Paul and Dorothy Allen Turner. Joyce was raised and attended schools in Ada, Okla. She was living in Southern California when she met a young man in the United States Navy, George Fuchs. They were united in marriage on August 27, 1976 in Reno, Nev. They lived in Vallejo, Calif., for a short time before moving to San Diego where they lived until 1994 when they moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. In 1998 they moved to Hermiston where they have lived since. Joyce worked for a time as a teacher’s assistant at West Park Elementary School and later at Rocky Heights Elementary School. Joyce enjoyed ceramics, sewing, gardening, and visiting with her friends. She was a member of the Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband: George Fuchs, Hermiston, OR; brothers: Paul, Jerry Don, (Twin Brother) Royce Haroll, & Douglas Turner, all of Ada, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Joanne Gomez.
Recitation of the rosary will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at 6 p.m. at Burns Mortuary Chapel in Hermiston.
Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church, Hermiston, Oregon.
Burial will follow at the Hermiston Cemetery, Hermiston, Oregon.
