La Plant died Thursday, Jan. 9, at her home in Hermiston at the age of 67. She was born in The Dalles and later moved to Hermiston where she worked at Burnham’s Clothing Store. She later worked at Simplot as well as a cook at Sunset Elementary School and Armand Larive Middle School. She was known as “Momma Joan” for being a good listener.
She enjoyed being an artist and painted holiday windows.
