The Umatilla Chamber of Commerce has announced the seventh annual Fish’n the Brave hosted by Tony Fisher of Fisher’s Catch Outfitters.

Veterans can participate in this day of guided fishing along the Columbia River for free thanks to the support of the event’s sponsors.

The event takes place at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12 at Umatilla Marina Park. Fisher and city officials will give opening comments to welcome the veterans followed by the National Anthem.

The participating veterans will have coffee and pastries in morning sponsored by IBEW Local 280 and provided by The Bridge Bistro and Two Rivers Correctional Institution.

The boats will launch about 8 a.m. A takeout lunch, sponsored by Ranch & Home and AWS, will be provided by Rae’s Dayz Diner.

The fishing captains and veterans will begin returning to the Umatilla Marina about 3 p.m. The evening meal, sponsored by the city of Umatilla, will be catered by GG’s Smokehouse Catering and served around 4 p.m. The meal will be followed by a presentation of awards and prize giveaways generously donated for the participating veterans.
