This weekend’s Eastern Oregon wind storm caused havoc throughout the area, uprooting trees and knocking down power lines. The National Weather Services recorded wind speeds of more than 70 mph.

Several massive trees were uprooted throughout Hermiston, including five trees at Butte Park. A tree fell across N.W. Seventh Street, entirely blocking passage. Several trees were uprooted along Highland Avenue and Fourth Street.

Crews were out before the sun repairing a downed line along Highland Avenue. Today’s forecast calls for more wind, but not nearly as forceful.
