A Hermiston man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly breaking into a home, threatening the resident and stealing several power tools.
Around 8:20 a.m. on Tuesday, the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office dispatch received a 911 call from a man in the 80000 block of Cactus Drive in Hermiston. The reporting party said a man, known to the resident, had entered the residence with a handgun and proceeded to steal power tools before leaving in a black Honda Accord driven by another male.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies spotted a black Honda about an hour later on the 600 block of S. Highway 395. Probably cause was established and Roy Lozano, 30, was arrested on charges of first-degree robbery, pointing a firearm at another, and menacing. Lozano was booked in the Umatilla County Jail.
The Hermiston Police Department assisted and the investigation is ongoing, according to the sheriff’s office.
