Deputies of the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office provided extra patrol during the Umatilla County Fair and Farm-City Pro Rodeo.

A total of 45 drivers were cited/warned for traffic violations. One person was arrested for DUII. Just after midnight on Aug. 13, Deputy Calvin Meade stopped 52-year-old Ronald Crumbliss of Pilot Rock while on S. Ott Road and E. Airport Road in Hermiston. Crumbliss exhibited signs of alcohol intoxication and was arrested for DUII, but ultimately refused to take a breath test.

Law enforcement agencies throughout Oregon participated in the nationwide event, in an effort to get more impaired drivers off the street, and save lives that would otherwise be lost. The DUI/HVE event was funded through a grant from the Oregon State Sheriff’s Association. The next DUII/HVE begins today, and will run through Labor Day, Sept. 4, 2017.
