SHIBA to Provide Medicare Help

The Senior Health Insurance Benefits Assistance (SHIBA) program will present Medicare 101, a free resource and class on understanding Medicare.

The class will take place next month in several Umatilla County locations:

  • Milton-Freewater Public Library, 8 S.W. Eighth Ave. on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 1-3 p.m.
  • Umatilla Public Library, 700 6th St. on Wednesday, Aug. 8, 1-3 p.m.
  • St. Anthony Hospital, 2801 St. Anthony Way, Pendleton on Wednesday, Aug. 8, 6-8 p.m.
  • Stanfield Public Library, 180 W. Coe Ave. on Thursday, Aug. 9, 10 a.m. to noon
  • Good Shepherd Medical Center, 610 N.W. 11th St., Hermiston on Thursday, Aug. 9, 6-8 p.m.

SHIBA provides free information, education and advocacy for Medicare beneficiaries, family members and caregivers of those on or approaching Medicare eligibility. They offer information on additional insurance options, financial assistance programs available, and prescription drug plans.
