She was born on Jan. 20, 1951 in Pendleton to Daniel and Goldie Graves Perkins. Shirley was raised in Pendleton, Hermiston and Pilot Rock, Oregon. She moved to Umatilla, Oregon and worked as a cook at the McNary Market for several years and then at Rest A Bit Motel in Umatilla, Oregon. Shirley was united in marriage to Mark Andrews on May 21, 1994 in Umatilla, Oregon. They have lived in Olympia, Washington since 2003, although they spent the last year and a half in New Jersey to be near her son Lee and her grandchildren. Shirley enjoyed going to the beach, sewing, cooking, quilting, and loved her dog and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Mark Andrews, Olympia, WA; son: Lee Daniels & Danielle, New Jersey; siblings: Clyde Perkins, Hermiston, OR, Larry Perkins, Hermiston, OR, Danny Perkins, Olympia, WA & Norma Cain, Missouri; 2 grandsons: Michael & Hunter with another grandchild on the way; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 22, 2016 at 1 p.m. at the Hermiston Cemetery.
Following the graveside there will be a gathering for friends and family at The Pheasant Bar and Grill on Main Street in Hermiston from 2 to 5 p.m.
