The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office reported it arrested a Boardman man after he shot at a man on May 1 at a service station.

Jose Carlos Gonzalez, 37, remains in the Umatilla County Jail, Pendleton, on numerous charges, including attempted kidnapping.

According to the sheriff’s office, its communication center on May 1 at about 8:15 p.m. received calls reporting gunshots from the west parking lot near the Irrigon Shell Station. Callers reported a Hispanic male — Gonzalez — fired shots toward another man and a red jeep.

The sheriff’s office responded and during the investigation deputies learned Gonzalez had followed the female victim to the Irrigon Shell station, driving erratically on Highway 730, attempting to stop her vehicle.

A man the woman knows arrived in a red jeep to assist her. That’s when Gonzalez pulled a handgun and fired shots at the man, who was not hit. He left in the red jeep at a high speed.

Gonzalez then attempted to force the female into his car, according to the sheriff’s office. She resisted and Gonzalez fled.

The sheriff’s office reported this confrontation stemmed from a domestic dispute between Gonzalez and the female victim.

Sheriff’s deputy Zachary Killgore and detective Dalton Garcia began investigating this case. After several witness interviews and reviewing videos, the sheriff’s office arrested Gonzalez on the evening of May 5 and booked him into the jail for second-degree attempted kidnapping, first-degree attempted assault, unlawful use of a weapon, domestic violence harassment and recklessly endangering another.

This investigation in ongoing. The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office asked anyone with more more information on this case to call contact the sheriff’s office at 541-676-5317.

Umatilla and Boardman city police assisted the sheriff’s office, as did Oregon State Police.

The sheriff’s office also gave credit to witnesses who came forward with information on this case.

“It facilitated a quicker resolution to the situation, and is very much appreciated,” the sheriff’s office reported.

It’s funny you say that when before all this bull happened that the female victim and Gonzalez were previously in a relationship and Gonzalez ended it because she cheated on him and didn’t want her back. But however because he still cared about her she calls him practically begging him to save her and to go pick her up because I guess the guy that she had been with was hitting her and holding her captive in the other guy’s house so then Gonzalez out of the kindness of his heart drove over to pick her up to save her not to kidnap her but then she wanted to pull some b******* move and say that Gonzalez was the one kidnapping her when he was only trying to save her from being beaten
