There is less than two weeks before the Shuttered Venue Operators Grant (SVOG) period closes.
The SVOG program was established by the Economic Aid to Hard-Hit Small Businesses, Nonprofits, and Venues Act, and amended by the American Rescue Plan Act. The program includes $16 billion in grants to shuttered venues.
Eligible entities may be live venue operators or promoters, theatrical producers, live performing arts organization operators, museum operators, motion picture theatre operators or owners, and talent representatives, per the Economic Aid Act.
Eligible applicants may qualify for grants equal to 45 percent of their gross earned revenue, with the maximum amount available for a single grant award of $10 million. $2 billion is reserved for eligible applications with up to 50 full-time employees.
New Shuttered Venue Operators Grant applications will be accepted until 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on Friday, Aug. 20, 2021. Apply here.
Later in August, the Small Business Administration will open the program for supplemental SVOGs for 50 percent of the original award amount, capped at a total of $10 million (initial and supplemental combined). Details will be announced at a later date.
