The Salvation Army will take requests for its Christmas Assistance Program on Oct. 22-23 in Hermiston and Oct. 28-31 in Pendleton.
The program is for families with children ages 18 and younger.
Hermiston signups will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. both days at the Arc Building, 215 W. Orchard Ave. Pendleton signups will take place from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. at the Salvation Army Community Center, 150 S.E. Emigrant Ave.
People signing up will need to bring proof of income, proof of address and identification for each person in the household.
The Salvation Army will also be helping kids keep warm during the winter with its annual Coats for Kids event. The Salvation Army is seeking donations of new and gently-used coats. Donated coats can be dropped off in Pendleton at the Salvation Army Community Center and in Hermiston at the Agape House, 500 Harper Road.
