Sim L. Ten Eyck, a 45-year resident of Boardman, passed away at home on March 8, 2023 at the age of 86 after a long battle with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
Sim was born on July 1, 1936 in Orange, Calif.
Sim grew up and attended schools in Southern California. After high school, he served a term in the U.S. Army and Reserves. He began his career working for power plants in California. He moved to Boardman in 1978 to help with the construction of the PGE coal plant. He worked at the Boardman plant as a millwright from 1978 until retiring in 1998.
Sim enjoyed working on his farm, where he raised cattle and hay for many years.
He married Ramona Storeim on April 30, 1959 in Santa Ana, Calif.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ramona; daughter, Dr. Ragna Ten Eyck; grandson, Chandler Schaak; sister, Gayle Clark; and several extended family members.
A private family service will be held.
Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Boardman.
