Cars and trucks were slipping and sliding on Hermiston’s slick, snow-covered roads early this morning as the expected fluffy white stuff piled up in a hurry.
The snow began to fall just before 8 a.m. this morning and by 9 a.m., the roads had a solid layer of snow, making driving conditions hazardous. The snow is expected to continue throughout much of the morning before the temperature warms up and the snow turns to rain. More snow could come our way before the day is through.
The wind is expected to pick up in the afternoon with southwest winds averaging 10-17 mph with gusts as high as 32 mph. The wind is forecast to continue through the weekend as temperatures inch their way up into the 40s once again.
No rain or snow is expected through the most of next week.
