Soroptimist International of the Greater Hermiston Area will celebrate its 12th anniversary at its Oct. 22 meeting at the Desert Lanes meeting room.
The meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. and the public is invited to attend.
The service club will also recognize October as Domestic Violence Awareness month and will present In Her Shoes, an interactive activity to help people learn what women in a domestic violence situation face. Participants will select a women’s story and then walk through various stations representing obstacles and choices faced by victims of domestic violence. The activity is designed to give participants a perspective they may not have seen before.
