Junior Lee Moses died on March 13, 2015 at his home in Stanfield at the age of 78.
He was born on Feb. 8, 1937 in St. Paul, Kan., to Harry and Icy Katy Wilson Moses. Junior was raised and attended schools in Kansas. He graduated high school and then moved to Oregon in 1956. He then joined the United States Army on May 21, 1958. Junior was united in marriage to Priscilla Flanagan on May 13, 1959 in Dayton, Wash.
He served two tours in Vietnam and was stationed in Korea, France, Germany, as well as many bases in the United States. He retired after more than 20 years of service as a Sergeant First Class on July 31, 1978. Junior and Priscilla then returned to Stanfield where they have lived since. Junior worked for U & I Sugar in Boardman, Danny Cox Farming, and Aichele Farms as an equipment operator. He was a member of the VFW, Stanfield Moose Lodge, and the Gospel Home Church in Hermiston. Junior enjoyed fishing, singing, traveling, and was an avid yard saler .
He is survived by his wife, Priscilla Moses, Stanfield; sons, John Moses (Billie), Pendleton, and Joel Moses, Stanfield; daughter, Lori Patterson, Boardman; grandchildren, Warren, Brian, ane Hollie; great-grandchildren, Natalie, Gavin, James, Kira, Sam, and Jonathan; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Junior was preceded in death by his parents; great-grandson, Nathan Moses; and 15 siblings.
A graveside funeral service with military honors will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at 4 p.m. at the Echo Cemetery.
