Stephan Leader-Bowles Passes Away at 21

Stephan Kenyon Taylor Mitchell Leader-Bowles of Madras, former Irrigon resident, died on Oct. 21, 2017 in Prineville as the result of an automobile accident at the age of 21.

He was born on Jan. 10, 1996 in La Grande to Janette Leader-Hill and Stephen Bowles.

Stephan was raised in Irrigon until the age of 12, where he loved spending time on the farm with his grandparents. His family moved to Oregon City and later to Madras, where he played high school football and enjoyed camping and fishing with his family, as well as playing basketball with his friends. Stephan lived life to the fullest, and the thing that made him the happiest was spending time with his daughter Maisie and his nephew Braylen.

He is survived by his parents, Janette Leader-Hill and her husband Dennis, and Stephen Bowles; daughter, Maisie Leader-Bowles; sisters, Kateri Leader-Bowles and Lilly Hill; grandparents, Mylinda and Dale Awmiller and Frank Scott Sr.; great grandmother, Grace Frederickson; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Stephan was preceded in death by grandparents, Thomas Leader and Kathleen Bowles; and great grandparents, Beverly Leader, Roy Leader and Wally Frederickson.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Desert Lawn Memorial Cemetery, Irrigon.
