Do you know a student interested in technology? Students across Eastern Oregon are invited to the InterMountain Education Service District’s annual STEP Technology Expo on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Eastern Oregon University in La Grande.
This event is free and open to all students currently enrolled in 8th through 12th grades who attend one of the IMESD’s component school districts.
This year’s Expo is from 8 AM to 4:30 PM at EOU. Transportation will be provided to students from their school district.
The Expo is an opportunity for students to immerse themselves in hands-on technology fun and learn more about school-to-career opportunities in the technology field. Representatives from regional companies will attend to visit with students about jobs in their areas.
Students must register themselves to attend the Expo by going online. For more information, they can ask at their school front office or ask their school STEP representative. Posters and flyers should be available at their schools. Students can also follow STEP on Twitter and Instagram – @EOstepITup and #stepexpo17.
The Expo is part of an overall program called STEP – Student Technology Expanded Programs that the IMESD developed after receiving a grant from the Oregon Department of Education. The grant funds the spring Expo plus technology summer camps for high school and middle school students and an internship program for high school students through summer 2017.
