Suzanne (Sue) Buckley passed away peacefully on Dec. 22, 2022 at Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, Wash. at the age of 72.
Sue was born on Jan. 6, 1950 in Ann Arbor, Mich.
She married James (Jim) Buckley on Sept. 4, 1971 in California. Sue retired from Hermiston High School after doing many years of custodial work. Sue and her husband settled in Umatilla in the early 2000s. Sue enjoyed many things like golfing, gardening, cooking and sewing, and she spent many of her evenings on the Grassy Knoll with friends that quickly became like family to her.
Sue is survived by her daughters, Tanya (Guy) Tow and Anna Buckley; grandchildren, Guy (Sam) Tow, Ashley Valencia, Amber Valencia and Jamie Tow; sisters, Carol (Roy) Smith and Robin Pettit; and great grandchildren, Avery, Reid and Quinn.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore Wolff and Louise Stone; her brother, Kevin Greaige; her husband, Jim Buckley; and her granddaughter, Jocelyn Himmerich.
Family suggests memorial donations be made to Vange John Memorial Hospice education fund, Hermiston.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023 at 1 p.m. at New Hope Community Church, Hermiston.
