It is with great sadness that we must say good-bye to Susan Jane Hassett Perkins. She and her husband, Clyde, just recently returned to her hometown of North Platte, Neb. when she passed away on June 7, 2024 just shy of her 71st birthday.
Susan was born to Joseph and Beulah Hassett in Allen, Kansas on June 11, 1953. The family later moved to Nebraska where she graduated from North Platte Senior High School. Susan went on to earn her certification and worked at hospitals as a dietary manager, a field she dearly loved.
On Oct. 9, 1976, Susan was united in marriage to Clyde Perkins. They lived most of their lives together in Washington and Oregon.
She was passionate about sewing, crafting, scrapbooking, as well as camping and cooking. It was always a treat when Susan would bake, especially her famous cinnamon rolls. She was selfless to a fault and was always willing to help anyone in need.
Susan will be forever loved and cherished by all who were blessed to have known her.
She leaves behind her husband of 47 years, Clyde, and their children, Kim Lake (Randy), Kurt Perkins (Ida), Clyde Perkins Jr., Patty Brodie (Steve) and Danny Perkins; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; her brother, Howard Hassett (Deanna) and sister, Geri Nunnenkamp; as well as many other family members including aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Beulah Hassett; brothers, Paul, Jack and Jim; and her sister, Jean.
Cremation was chosen and services will be at a later date in Hermiston.
